    • Hailing from a small town called Vazhakkad, Akhil was born to Rajan, who is a daily wage worker and Anilkumari, who is a housewife.
    • Akhil has an elder sister Aishwarya and a younger sister Ashwathy, in 12th and 4th grade respectively.

    Akhil is a huge fan of Brazil star Neymar and Real Madrid.

    • Represented Kerala State in the Under-14 level in the South Zone Championships and finished Runners-Up. Akhil scored a spectacular goal from near the half-line, for which the visiting Indian national coach congratulated him personally.
    • Played at district level 4 times, thrice Runners-Up. In one edition, Akhil once scored a goal straight from a corner kick, which was awarded the Goal of the tournament.
    • Part of the SEPT side which finished Runners-up in Dubai in the Dubai Super Cup. 
    • State Runners-Up and District champions in the Subroto Cup, 2013.
    • Part of the Goa Football Championship winning SEPT side twice in 4 years of participation, once against the Indian National Under-17 team.
    • Selected to join Bayern Munich's Indian Academy, but rejected the offer to stay at SEPT.
    • District Champions at RAMCO Cup. Also won in the Kadalundi 7s Cup, Pulkavu 7s Cup.
    • Top Scorer at the state level SEPT Fest in 2012.
